Climate
Nepal consists of hot plains, cool hills and cold mountains
as you move south to north.
Nepal has a typical monsoon two - season year. The best
time to be in Nepal is during the dry season starts
from October to May. September - November, the start
of the dry season, is in many ways the best time of
the year in Nepal.
The climate of Nepal can be
classified as follows:
- Spring: March - May (25 degree
Celsius during days & 10 degree Celsius during
night with occasional rain)
- Summer: June - August (30
degree Celsius during days & 20 degree Celsius
during night with occasional rain.
- Autumn: Sep - Nov (25 degree
Celsius during days & 10 degree Celsius during
Nights, dry.)
- Winter: Dec - Feb (18 Degree
Celcius during days & 4 Degree Celsius during
Nights, dry)
Access
Kathmandu is connected
by direct flights with Amsterdam, London, Paris, Frankfort,
Moscow, Vienna, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Kolkata,
Delhi, Mumbai, Banglore, Varanasi, Dhaka, Paro, Lhasa,
Bangkok, Hongkong, Singapore, Shangai and Osaka. Alternative,
you can enter Nepal by land from India through six points
- Kakabhita, Birgunj, Belhiya, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi,
and Mahendranagar - or through Kodari from Tibet.
Season
February - May and September
- November are the best times to visit Nepal. The rainy
season lasts from June to August.
What to
Wear
Medium-weight and easy-to-wash
cottons can be a good choice year-round in the Kathmandu
Valley. From October to February, woollen sweaters,
jackets or similar other warm outfits are necessary.
Short or long sleeved shirts are good March through
May. From June to September, light and loose garments
are advisable
